As style guide, also known as a brand book or branding guidelines, are the standards for how your brand is presented. The basics include applications and variations of the logo, colour schemes, typography, and branding elements.
A logo variation is your primary logo re-arranged in different formats for use in spaces that require different dimensions. Platforms will require different uses, placements, and dimensions of your logo. You may have a long rectangular logo, but a platform such as Facebook requires you to have a square (stacked) profile photo.
